Delivery Schedule

We can deliver your order on any day of your choosing, from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive (Saturday delivery incurs a £5 surcharge.) A member of staff will confirm with you the most convenient day for delivery upon completion of your order.

Your order will be delivered any time between 8.30am and 5.30pm on the day that you have chosen. Unfortunately it is not possible to stipulate a time for delivery, it is therefore essential that, when ordering, you provide precise instructions for the courier should you happen to be out when your goods are delivered. This could be an alternative address such as a close neighbour, or preferably a safe place to leave your order maybe your patio or garage.

When ordering, you can arrange for delivery to your workplace, or to a neighbour or friend if it’s more convenient, all at no extra charge.

Packaging

John Pettit uses the latest packaging technology to ensure your premium quality meat arrives in perfect condition.

Vacuum Packing

We use sophisticated vacuum packing machine to extract all the air from your packs of meat. Why vacuum packing?

  • It’s the natural way to keep your meat fresher for longer.
  • It prevents juices from escaping so it keeps your meat more succulent.
  • Vacuum packed products take up less space in your fridge or freezer.
  • Our packaging helps to protect your meat from knocks and freezer burn.
  • The packs are clean and easier to handle.
  • Our heavy grade vacuum packs are ideal for home freezing and thawing.

Delivery packaging

Your order will be compiled on the day prior to your requested delivery date; then packed in strong insulated cool-boxes with the contents enveloped in ice packs which to prevent warming and protect your food from damage during transit.

Our strong and hygienic polystyrene boxes, which are reusable and recyclable, ensure that your internal packaging looks as pristine as when it was despatched.

Chilled or Frozen?

We offer a blast freezing service for the raw meat element of your order.

Our blast freezers chill far quicker than home freezers; the quicker process resulting in less fluid loss, thus enhancing the eating qualities when cooked whilst also providing better prevention of  bacterial development.

Each item is clearly labelled in special bags that minimise freezer burn. We recommend that you simply allow your meat to gently thaw  in the pack to retain maximum freshness.

We believe it is far more convenient for you to have the uncooked element of your order frozen.

Should your order be a mixture of chilled and frozen we would pack each element in separate cool-boxes.
